ACM Molutrex is a localized topical medical device used specifically to treat Molluscum contagiosum, a highly contagious viral skin condition common in children and adults. The solution contains 5% Potassium Hydroxide, a caustic agent that breaks down infected skin cells to trigger the body's natural immune response against the virus.

Step-by-Step Application Guide:

Because the solution is corrosive, an adult must always apply it with extreme care to avoid burning healthy skin.
  1. Prepare: Place the bottle on a flat surface to prevent spills. Replace the main cap with the childproof cap containing the brush or fine applicator.
  2. Dip & Wipe: Dip the applicator into the liquid and wipe off any excess on the rim of the bottle to prevent dripping.
  3. Target: Dab the solution only onto the molluscum bumps. Avoid all contact with healthy skin.
  4. Dry: Allow the liquid to dry completely. If treating a child, distract them so they do not touch or rub the wet area.
  5. Frequency: Apply 1 to 2 times daily (morning and evening).
When to Stop Treatment:
  • Stop immediately when redness or inflammation appears on a bump. This sign indicates that the immune system has successfully engaged. This usually happens within 2 to 10 days.
  • Once inflammation starts, stop dabbing that specific bump. The lesion will dry up and disappear over the following 2 to 6 weeks.
  • Maximum Limit: Do not use the solution on the same bump for more than 14 consecutive days. If no redness appears by then, stop and consult a physician. Important Contraindications
  • Do not use on children under 2 years old.
  • Do not apply near the eyes, on mucous membranes, open wounds, scratched skin, or already infected/inflamed bumps.
  • Do not use if the individual has acute atopic eczema or a compromised immune system.
